Background
Howells Solicitors are one of the premier conveyancing and multi-talented legal firms in South Wales with more than seven office locations.
The Problem and Requirements
The firm had a variety of different manufacturers and models for their printer hardware, with no managed print software embedded anywhere across the company. Usage wasn’t monitored and print was not audited. There were many different print drivers across the company which took a great deal of IT for new starter integration and the correct usage of the devices.
The Solution
Blue Sky recommended the installation of Canon hardware throughout the company, which combined with Uniflow Managed Print software, meant that the company were able to use one Universal Print Driver that was integrated into an active directory. Therefore, any new starters would immediately have access to print with the permissions they were allowed.
All usage on the MFDs were then audited and follow-me-print was implemented across the firm. The improvements seen included:
• The company almost halved their print bills
• Full restrictions on usage, vastly improving security
• Strategic model placement improving fix times and parts storage
• Collection and return of legacy equipment with accompanying manifests saving time and headaches for the customer
“Blue Sky are an awesome team, moving our devices with little disruption whilst we moved into our new offices. They are always approachable and helpful and the difference the new solution has made to our business has meant that IT can concentrate on other major projects to strengthen our company still further.”
— Carl Smith, IT and Systems Manager
